PROJECT 38: FURRMURR SEYMOUR'S WHEAT & BEETS

Project coordinates: X +160 : Y +66 : Z +131
Date completed: 5 June 2016
Minecraft day completed: 5158

Fully tooled up for the 1.9 cycle now (and beyond, because 1.10 will be no easier), I can concentrate on automating the production of anything added in 1.9 that can be automated. I guess that means beetroot, then? Some might say it's completely pointless, and is a rubbish food source (in both real life and Minecraft), but beetroot can be fed to pigs, leaving all my carrots open for trade - although they're still in short supply due to the ignominious failure of Linda McSeymour's Vegetable Vault to run for any longer than a single harvest without the villagers going on strike.

However, wheat is harvested a different way to carrots and potatoes because it generates seeds as well as the harvested crop. And as beetroot also yield seeds, exactly as they originally did in the Pocket Edition, these can be harvested the same way as wheat. Furrmurr Seymour's Bread Bin has been merrily churning out stacks of wheat ever since it was built, it's earned me an enormous number of emeralds, so it's time to expand it and add in those deep red marvels.

Typical production rate, per hour: 126 wheat, 95 wheat seeds, 100 beetroot, 106 beetroot seeds

Typical production rate, per three MC days: 169 wheat, 127 wheat seeds, 133 beetroot, 142 beetroot seeds
