"EVEN THE DEAD MAY NOT BE AT REST..."
While travelling to a week's break in Cornwall in June 2011, I noticed a sign on the M5. "Wookey Hole Caves", it said. Could that be the same Wookey Hole that Old Corpse Road had written one of their most recognisable tracks about? I decided to investigate on the way back and sure enough, it was. As I had my video camera with me I thought I'd record some of the guided tour of the caves.
The video-diary for the tour of Cornwall and this excursion into Somerset never happened, but the seed was sown for what would become this series. Old Corpse Road's myths, legends and folk tales all have some definitive place (or places) attached to them, so what was to stop me travelling all round the country to find them - and while I'm there, investigate what really happened, how and why the legend arose, and include anything else that might be of interest, and which even the band themselves might not know!

The plan was hatched in January 2013, the first footage was filmed in May of that year, and even though it took until the autumn before the first episode was released, the rest soon followed. With the release of the second album, Of Campfires and Evening Mists, in May 2016, Old Corpse Road have covered nineteen such legends in their lyrics, fifteen of which have been visited along the course of six episodes of this video series; two more are still to come to complete this album, and hopefully there will be more in the future.
The logical choice of title was Tales Along The Old Corpse Road; I consider it the flagship of Hammer Of Retribution Productions.
